We look up to super-powered heroes—probably because of their striking appearance, and the fact that they battle evil that good may triumph. The good news is that one day, good will triumph over every evil. How will you do on that day? Let’s test and see: Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Ever looked with lust? Have you ever lied, or stolen anything, irrespective of its value? Have you used God’s name in vain? If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But the one true Savior gave His perfect life as a sacrifice. Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. If you stand guilty in court, and someone steps forward and pays your fine, the judge can legally let you go, even though you are guilty. God can dismiss our case and let us live forever, because of what Jesus did on the cross: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Salvation is a free gift of God. Repent and trust in Jesus alone (as you’d trust a parachute). Do it today. You may not have tomorrow. Then, read the Bible daily. God commands all believers to be baptized, and to become a committed part of a local Christian church. Visit LivingWaters.com and click on “Save Yourself Some Pain” to learn more.
